Heads were turned in a Spanish restaurant, located in the heart of Liverpool city centre, last night.
Film director and ex-husband to Madonna, Guy Ritchie, has been shooting his latest blockbuster film – Sherlock Holmes – in one of the city’s disused docks all week.
During a break from filming the director of hit films such as Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, decided to take his kids – Rocco, eight, and three-year-old adopted son, David – for a bite to eat at trendy Spanish bar/restaurant La Vina in North John Street.
Joining him later on was not just one, but two Hollywood stars – Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr!
Within minutes the Spanish eatery was packed out with, would you believe, a large contingent, might I add, of female evening revellers – all hoping to catch a glimpse of the movie-making trio.
Law, almost unrecognisable with a thick moustache, grown for the part of Dr Watson he is portraying in Ritchie’s latest flick, stayed enjoying the ambience until 1am this morning and even liked the place that much; he literally left his mark by signing his name on the restaurant wall – joining the likes of local football stars, who also have signed the wall in the past.
Sherlock Holmes is due to be released in November 2009.
Local photographer and a good friend of mine, Dave Evans, caught some exclusive pictures on the night. Scroll down to take a look:
